REPORT March 15, 2008

We are getting the fleet ready to fish for 2008. The Miss Chris II is on the hard undergoing her spring make ready. The Sea Star III is back in the water. The Lady Chris is ready to go. The Porgy IV is getting ready as well. Any day now the Fishing season will be officially underway for all. Look for the new Spirit of Cape May as well on the grounds.

THE STRIPED BASS HAVE ARRIVED! Get out of the house and enjoy any good weather day you can find. They are in the bay and stacked up. Big fish way up the bay. The Sea Star III is running daily for stripers. The Lady Chris and Miss Chris will star running any day. The bites have been few, but you can see the fish, on the surface. They are awaiting the water to warm up only a couple degrees. Hopefully, that will trigger their instincts to feed.

The Calypso X is still awaiting her new power. The Spirit of Cape May is starting to wrap up. All paneling is done. All Wiring is done. Engines have been thoroughly checked and are nearing complete bolt together. Exhaust is done. New upper deck railings are in the works, life jacket boxes are done. Hull is painted, fuel tank has been divided in two for added stability, bulkhead door is installed. New engine room air vent is installed. Engine room fan from Cincinatti Fan has arrived and is awaiting install. Electronics have had their set backs, and I wont name anybody, but we are back on track. Pilot house ceiling is back up and the dash board is coming together. All tables are complete and ready for install, the snack bar top is on order and the rest is coming together. All seating is in place. Sound system is on board, but in boxes. Still a lot of sanding and painting. Oh boy. My favorite.
