One of the most unique and diverse environments on earth can be found right in our own back yard. Or back marsh as the case may be. The bac bay areas between mainland New Jersey and the Barrier Islands provide an amazing environment for many different species of birds to nest and fish to spawn. This is the basis of a large portion of the marine environment and the start of life for many marine organisms. This is an excellent place to view many types of gulls, herons, egrets, the osprey, and many other species. Also, along your way, you will see historic Cape May Harbor, several of the commercial fish docks around Cape May, and several other points of interest.
