Eco- Tours

Cape May, NJ hosts one of the most diverse saltwater, freshwater, and estuary eco systems on the East Coast of North America. With a wide variety of marine and avian life to view, you would be missing out if you didnt spend some part of your visit to the cape doing an Eco-Tour of some sort. Through the months of late April all the way through to mid-October the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins call Cape May, their summer home. Dolphin Watching trips depart daily aboard the Cape May Whale Watcher, and there are three trips daily. Another sometimes unknown fact is that the largest mammals on the planet can be seen right here, off the coast of New Jersey. Whale Watching is excellent year round off of New Jersey with some of the best being in early spring and late fall. However, we have had summers with whales for up to two months straight. Cape May is one of the Bird Watching capitals of North America, with the Spring and Fall migrations providing ample opportunities for viewing a variety of Hawks including Ospreys and Bald Eagles, many pelagic species offshore, and a host of other species throughout the year. Marsh Eco-Tours are a wonderful way to view the back country of New Jersey's waterways between the barrier islands and the main land. This area is teaming with wildlife from the winged to the finned. Cape May Charters has daily Inshore Eco-Tours as well as Offshore Eco-Tours available. You can book a private or semi-private Small Group Eco-Tour or Large Group Eco-Tour. We have been doing Educational Eco-Tours for almost Two Decades. Check out Science for Students for all sorts of fun facts and information.
